From the walk to the kiss and everything in between
Back in 2016, I was the DJ at a wedding where the ceremony was set to start in a few minutes. The guests were seated, the bridal party was lining up and I had already started background music. Everything was set except for one thing: the officiant wasn't there. The bride was visibly upset and for good reason; nobody wants to have to cancel a wedding because a vital part of the success of the wedding was not there.
The officiant did show up; late, but they did arrive and the wedding went off without a hitch. Apparently, he got caught up in Houston traffic.
The next day it got me to thinking: what would happen if the officiant DIDN'T show up? Who would be able to step in to take over to avoid her beautiful day being cancelled?
So, I got online, got ordained and intended to use my newly-acquired license to use as an emergency backup but I never needed to step in as a last-second replacement. Instead, I've been officiating (AND DJing) weddings ever since.
It's pure excitement when I get to play a couple's first dance song and seeing all of the emotions, but it's doubly-exciting to be able to usher them into marriage!
I'm one of very few DJ companies that can DJ and officiate for couples, and I like to really have the couple's love story shine on their sweetest day.
